The Rainbow

First of all, happy 2017 everyone!
I just hope we can realized our wish this year. Let's struggle to make this year a better year. Yay!

Lately, I'm having nostalgia with L'Arc~en~Ciel's song. I used to be a big fan of this band when I was a junior high school-er. FYI, this "big" fan thingy wasn't mean I really a fan that support my favorite musician's financial. In the end, I just realized that I only a normal "alay" fan who only listen to their song through illegal way (download, or even worse, asked my friend to download the song for me).

Fortunately, I still managed to buy their original cassettes(!) and several music dvds. And for live performance, of course I've seen theirs so many via youtube and illegal dvds. I planned on seeing their concerts when they came to Indonesia 4 years ago. But my parents wouldn't allow their only daughter go alone to watch concert, absolutely. However that was an ancient story. I've moved on already.

These night, I randomly played all Laruku's song and set them on shuffle mode.

I skip Chase and almost all their new song. I once read a news that said Hyde was completely dissapointed about J-song chart lately because it only contained idol and anime's song. I'm a fans of Hyde but sorry, man, this time I'm quite upset with his word. IMHO, Laruku never really have a great songs since XXX. All they do was experimenting and made song as if it's just a sign that they still alive. But none of them was good enough to comfort my ears (other ex-fan said so! It isn't really my subjective opinion then). If Hyde had time to feel horrible about the chart, he can just use it for creating new great song, for God sake! (I'm really sorry if my opinion was too offensive for hardcore fans out there. Really, this was just my honest opinion as Laruku's fan)

Then it's time for The Fourth Avenue Cafe. This was the song that made me fall in love with them for the first time. There might be not so many of you notice that this was the ending theme for Samurai X. It only played during 7 episodes of Shishio's arc because that time, Laruku got drugs abuse incident. I still clearly had the image of the Samurai X's PV in my mind. Hyde's voice here was - how should I say this, handsome. Truly handsome. I was once fell in love and my heart beat like crazy as I listened to his voice (yeah, I used to be a real freak, right?). Hyde's voice slowly changing as he grow old. Now, he doesn't have voice like the one he got in The Fourth Avenue Cafe. So, it weird for me to imagine this one was Hyde's voice.

Flower played on my music player. This song also bring Hyde's handsome voice (anyway, I'm sorry I seems like only comment about Hyde. Actually I did this because he is my favourite. Oh, and I know nothing about musical instrument). When I first listened to Flower, I was thinking that Hyde must be so handsome in the PV like the on in Driver's High. So, when I finally watched the PV, I really dissapointed to see him in his bob-styled hair and his 90s style lol.

Other songs from Awake and Kiss album played. Most of these song, such Alone in La Vida, Sunadokei, Existnce, Twinkle Twinkle, and My Dear wasn't popular but I love them! I really hope it played on live performance more often. Anyway, I'm not really a fan for Laruku's very first album because my ears couldn't adapt to that years song (LOL) and Real was my least favourite Laruku's 2000 album, so does Smile. Then, Butterfly wasn't really an album for me. Now you understand what I mean by I actually not a real fan? LOL.

Suddenly I hear unknown song. Oh dear, it's Trust, the fourth track from Awake. I've forgot about this song for long time.

There are two song that made pretty big impact for me. It was Sell My Soul and Metropolis. It happened 5 years ago when I already quite bored with Laruku and started to search for another band to admire. I don't know how could I end up having nostalgia by collecting their live dvds. I first watched Sell My Soul at final tour Trans Asia Via Paris. At first I didn't recognize what song it is that made Laruku's member sit close to each other while playing it. I found out the title is Sell My Soul through google. This song was so heartwarming. It made me fall in love once again with Laruku. The same goes for Metropolis. I recognized the song from Laruku's live: Mata Heart ni Hi wo Tsukero.

Suddenly my playlist played an unknown song. This song I never know have same feeling like indie song I listened to lately. This also have the same feeling as my favourite SID's song. I check my palyer. The title written is Singin' in the Rain. Oh yeah, I fall in love with this song. I fall in love with Laruku's ancient song that Hyde himself probably forgot already. This song, I never heard of, sounds so heartwarming on my ear. Apart from what happened with my relationship with Laruku this past few years, found Laruku's old song that made me fell in love was really weird thing, yet so nice.

Found Laruku's song that made me fall in love again after long time end my nostalgia here. Okay, time to go back to work. Anyway, if you're wondering what's my all-time-favourite-Laruku's-song, it's Joujoushi ;)
